My life as a kid of the King

Enough already!

Negativity

Slander and Gossip

Hatred and Anger

Offence

ENOUGH ALREADY!

I am so tired of the constant baloney of negativity that I am forced to put up with. That I am forced to hear and see on a daily basis. It is exhausting. I can only imagine how tired these people must be who are putting it out there. You know exactly the type I am talking about. They are only happy when tearing someone else apart, always taking offence and then taking it out on others, taking and never giving, spewing hateful and untruthful words to whoever will listen no matter what the cost, oh and most importantly they are NEVER wrong!

I feel like screaming ENOUGH ALREADY!

SO….. LETS FIGHT BACK!

Every time you hear a negative word – Speak life at it TIMES 2!

Every time you hear or read something that is tearing someone down – Write or say something that you love and appreciate about someone TIMES 2!!

Let’s fight the good fight – Let’s spread LOVE and PEACE and POSITIVITY everywhere we go! Light and dark cannot exist together! SO Lets PUSH IT OUT!! BE the LIGHT!!!

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

He is the same.

He is the same. today. yesterday. forever.

He does not change. ever.

He is still the same God who made a covenant with Abram. He is still the God who gave barren women and hope and future and a child. He is the God who delivered a people from slavery, who supplied all their needs and took them to a land of promise. He is the same God who closed the mouths of lions. He is the same God who filled the widows bowls with oil. He is the same God who protects, provides, listens, encourages, creates and holds us as we read about in the bible. Most importantly He is still the same God who LOVED us so much that He gave His only Begotten son, so we could believe in Him and not die, but have eternal life.

This week in church I was reminded of these things. That even though I change, He has not and will not. He is still the God I cried out to in my times of trouble, He is still the God I thanked in times of happiness. He is still the God who gave me promises, a future and hope. No matter what I do or where I go, He will be there to love me, just as He has since the beginning of time.

love

Now replace the word Love with the word Jesus. He is all these things.

There is something about the Love of Jesus.

Last week the history channel aired the final installment of “The Bible Miniseries” and I caught the last hour of it (my kids were awake and a lot of it was a bit to intense for them). It was from Christs resurrection to the book of revelations. It was… WOW! Anyways, it had an effect on me in a way I did not expect. I felt a connection with these men, with Peter, with John, with Saul/Paul – that I never felt before! It was like I finally realized what they went through, that they were real people. People with love, fear, pride, doubt and passion. They weren’t different from me, yes they lived in a different time – but a lot of the things that they encountered, we still do today. I am so filled with thankfulness that they didn’t give up.  That they fought the good fight!

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight,I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for methe crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day— and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

When I think of Saul/Paul – who this quote was from – I am overly moved by the love and forgiveness and grace that Jesus IS! Saul/Paul passionately opposed anything and anyone to do with Jesus. He made it his mission in life to dispose and discourage the followers of Jesus! And in turn – Jesus showed him mercy and LOVE and a new mission! To rise up, create and encourage believers in Christ! LOVE transformed him into a new creation.

What an amazing thing that is! It is the LOVE of God for us that He gave us HIS SON to take the sin of the world upon himself! It is the LOVE of God for us that changes our lives! It turns sorrow into gladness, hate into love, pain into healing, weakness into strength and most importantly it turns death into life.

It’s about to get personal.

Blogs are all about getting personal right? Well HERE WE GO!

I am going to be writing a bit about my feelings, so if you want to skip over this post feel free – I have plenty other posts that don’t go there (see the categories on the side) BUT if you want to keep reading… maybe this will help you too.

I struggle with fear. Not the kind where I am afraid of the dark, creepy crawlies and scary movies (which – don’t get me wrong I am not a fan of any of those things), but what I am talking about it a bit different. I am talking about a different fear.

One fear – fear of failure. I don’t think that I put my whole heart into everything that I do because somewhere inside of me I and preparing myself for it to fail. So when it does, I hope to not hurt as much. Another fear – fear of change. I hate change. I hate when people move away, hate changing jobs, even getting older or having more babies because it is the unknown, I don’t like the unknown – I even want to know how a movie ends!! Another would be – fear of perception. I do care to much of what people think of me. I am fearful of people not liking me, thinking I am stupid, or making fun of me. All of that usually causes me to in turn make fun of myself, and treat myself like I am not all the important! And a fear of not being good enough.

Does anyone else feel these fears sometimes?

So how does one live with these fears? WE DON’T!! They keep us from living a full life and becoming the people who were are supposed to be. SO I am not going to live with fear anymore!

I am a NEW CREATION in Christ. All those fears do not belong to me anymore. I am writing this post as a declaration to the world (both physical and spiritual) that:

I AM NO LONGER BOUND BY FEAR – I HAVE BEEN GIVEN POWER, LOVE AND A SOUND MIND!

Fashion Blog Love! – Crave by Cortnie Dyann

I would like to send a “shout out” (tee hee) to my friend Cortnie! She is one of the coolest, nicest and awesome-est (word?) gals I know and I am blessed to have her as a friend! She was very supportive when I opened (and eventually closed) my maternity shop and I was happy to return the favour when she opened her make-up/fashion boutique just down the street from me. Well the time has come for her now to close the doors to Crave Fashion and head down a new path.

I think a big part of this new path will be dedicated to her blog!

What is love?

I just watched the movie “Paperheart” where the main charactor dosn’t beleive Love is real, or that she can feel that emotion. It was a neat movie because it was a documentry and fictional story meshed together. Well.. it got me thinking about love. Here are some famous quotes about LOVE:

Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts

Charles Dickens

Love never claims, it ever gives.

Mohandas K. Gandhi

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.

Emily Bronte

“When you are in Love you can’t fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams.”

Dr Seuss

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

Helen Keller

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17
