Kids of the King

My life as a kid of the King

So this is 30.

So I am now 30. WHAT? How did that creep up on me? I mean I KNEW it was coming, and although I am blonde, I know how birthdays works. BUT STILL – 30?!?! Really??

When you look back over your life at all the amazing things that you have learnt, done, and seen – it can be overwhelming!

When I look at the last 30 years of my life – I see a lifetime of blessings, of favor and of amazing adventures. I have been to awesome places, I have experienced amazing things, I have a life that I am so thankful for. I have a wonderful and loving (and gorgeous) husband, two sweet and incredible children, amazing and supportive friends and a Jesus who love me. I can only imagine what the next ten years will hold, and the many years after that! What more I will see, do, hear and learn. I know there is a plan for my life. I know that it is big, and I know that it is only beginning!

Pinterest Challenge.. Continued!

I have been totally MIA the last bit of the week BUT I have a great excuse! The weather has been AMAZING so I have spent very little time on the computer! It is another beautiful day today but it is still early so I thought I would do a quick post! I have continued on with my pinterest challenge this last week – most things having to do with the outdoors! I don’t have any personal pics (I will do another post with those included) but here are the pins I re-created!

It is my lovely daughters birthday party next month – so we used this picture as inspiration for her invites – it’s a pj/slumber party theme!

It was also MOTHERS DAY this past weekend (Happy Mothers Day everyone!) So I made my amazing mom some of these for part of her present! The funny thing is – I tricked her into collecting paint stir sticks from some local hardware store! Tee Hee!

AND we made a BEAN TEE PEE!! I am sooo excited for this one! Right now it looks kinda silly – like a big pile of boards piled up BUT once those little pole beans start to growing my kids will love to spend time in the garden munching on fresh beans!

I am going to do some sewing next – I have a craft fair next weekend and think I need some fresh stock!

What have you been doing from your pinterest boards?

Bonfire Party!

We had my sons birthday party last weekend! It was soo much fun! We really lucked out and had a beautiful day.

We roasted hotdogs, ate snacks, played with our over active border collies, opened gifts and ended with a fun trailer ride for the kids!

So for my cupcakes – I made mini cupcakes with orange icing. I cut up wafer cookies to make them look like wood on bonfire. We had more cupcakes, and cookies and all sorts of yummy goodies.

When it was time to go, each kids got one of these AWESOME bonfire cookies we had make by my daughters super talented piano teacher.

I love Birthday Parties! I have soo many wonderful pics – BUT they have my friends kids in them and I havn’t asked if IU could put them up!

Another Birthday Party!

My “Little” boy is turning THREE this weekend! WOW! I am so blessed to have this munchkin to call my very own!

And he LOVES me SOOOOOO MUCH!

So we are having his birthday party this weekend. I love planning and throwing birthday parties. I have soo many ideas for my daughters future parties… but I had a hard time thinking of something for my guy! I don’t want to go the way of a “licenced” theme (not that there is anything wrong with it – it just isn’t what I like to do).

We are having a “BONFIRE Party!”

With Halloween coming up – we were going to have a bonfire (we have a lot of stuff to burn!) but I thought it would be a great theme for a party so we are doing it a bit early! We are going to have a BIG bonfire and also a smaller fire in our fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows (This is a parent and child party – if you are wondering why I am throwing such a hazardous themed party!!!). We are going to hitch a trailer to the lawn tractor or atv and have some rides around the yard. We are going to have a scavenger hunt and some other outside games. I am going to make some bonfire cupcakes ( I will post a tutorial on how I do that later!) and for the goodie bags – My daughters paino teacher is also an amazing cookies maker. She is going to make bonfire cookies! I am planning on putting one in a bag with a rocket pop and some glowsticks. Each bag will have a special tag with the kids name on it.

I will let you know how it goes!!!!!

Teaparty fit for the Princess!

So we finally had the “princess birthday tea party” this past weekend and it was wonderful! All the little sweethearts came dressed in thier “royal princess garments” including a few dashing princes! Here are some pics! (I am holding back any of this kids pics, even though they were sooo cute, for privacy reasons! I am sure you understand!)

Each little girl had her own teacup and placesetting, which also served as a party of thier goodie bags! They were sooo excited that they were allowed to keep thier cup. I put a little paper pillowbox with gumballs and a tiny decorated plastic box with pretty braclets as the rest of the goodie bag. But really I think that the cup would have been enough.

Food – I was shocked how much these little ones ate!!! Even though the party was after lunch! We had little cinnamon buns, pb&j sandwiches cut in cute little shapes, banana bread, fruit, veggies, and of course potato chips! Instead of realy tea we had Iced Tea and used a beautiful silver tea service. The cream and suger holders held jelly bellys which the kids ate right up!

Game – We played a really fun game. As the music played they passed around a pretty purse with little papers on it (like hot potato) and who ever had the purse when the music stopped had to do what the paper said! Then they got a prize. We kept it simple – “run in a circle” “act like a duck” and so on.

Craft – I saw a great tutorial on the emily jones blog (http://jonesdesigncompany.com/) and each girl decorated a princess party hat with sequins and gems and ribbons and stickers!

It was a great party and we are already thinking about next year!! Nancy Drew? …. I think so!
